What's this I hear about Honda quitting F1?

  • I hope this is just a rumour!

    Just as things were looking up for Button, they drop this bombshell! It appears that they can't afford to keep ploughing the money in, and rather then cut back they're pulling out altogether!

    Thoughts/reactions?


  • I'm sorry to hear that Matt mate. Toyota might take you on. I feel sorry for everyone in your team though. Bernie needs to stop squeezing teams for all they're worth or it'll be just three teams with one car racing round.

    Thats why im getting at home at 4:30 pm everyday.
    Normally i'd be at the factory until 1:30 am everyday.

    It will be like a part of me will die because were like one big family and I have a lot of passion for the team.

    hey maybe McLaren or someone might buy my work off me :D


  • It's about time. That team has been one of the worst teams in F1. They would be pulling out because Toyota is doing much better. It;s all about branding and car sales, and who wants to by a car that goes like their race cars.


  • Yeah it's true.... all becasue of the global financial crisis and F1 isn't exactly cheap. Honda can't support the racing team and have withdrawn,leaving JB and Senna's future hanging in the balance. They are trying to look for a buyer though... So in a way, Max was right. He already foresaw the possibility of F1 being hit by a financial crisis


  • Honda Japan may no longer be willing to bankroll the team but I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who are willing to put up the money to be in F1. I'm sure they'll work it out by the start of the season.

  • It`s true mate,they have 3 months to find a buyer . The real big worry is if a team like Honda can get in this trouble then the other teams could go down too.

  • I just heard to news on BBC Sport and apparently they have a month to find a buyer...but this shouldnt be too hard...they say that.

    This is bigger than people realise
