MY FRIEND DID THIS PAPER LAST YEAR, SAME TEACHER, AND THE SAME TOPIC. I REWORDED THE WHOLE PAPER, BUT WE HAD TO USE THE SAME SOURCES, ITS ALL THE CAMPUS LIBRARY HAD AVAILABLE. MY STOMACH IS IN KNOTS, IM WORRIED TOO DEATH!...HELP!!!!!! DO TEACHERS NORMALLY KEEP WAY OLD CRAP? AND IF SO..WHAT IF HE HAS THE COPY OF HERRR PAPERWell if i were you i would be scared too teacher sometimes keep things but than again its normal 4 people to choose the same topics dont worry about it.....its good u reworded thoughI am a teacher and I have caught students doing similar things (yes even a year or two later). There is no harm in using the same sources but when you use the original paper instead of looking in the sources themselves, THAT is a problem. Since you are feeling the way you are I suggest going to the teacher and owning up to your mistake and seeing what you can do to make it up.Teachers don't normally keep all the papers that students turn - but the interesting thing is that they often remember them. And your essay may just trigger your teacher's memory.
If you really want to make an impression on your teacher, you can 'fess up. Tell her what you did, and ask for the opportunity to write a new essay - on a different topic - and tell her your knotted up stomach is enough to ensure that you will never do that again.
She may mark you down on your essay, but you will have gained her respect and you will feel better about yourself.
It's not an easy thing to do - but if you have the moral standard, it will be better for you in the long run. Teachers do NOT normally keep old papers BUT...they do remember certain papers, like if it has waaaaayyy too many grammatical errors or if the topic was actually enticing. If he has the copy of her paper and actually matches it to yours, most likely you will receive a ZERO and a visit to the principal.
So what's the lesson here? If you're going to cheat, don't use the exact bibliography and CERTAINLY don't use a paper from a student of the PREVIOUS year...should've waited a couple of years. And, yes, that was DUMB of you. Did you write it in all caps? Because that would be a pretty dead giveaway.I teach first grade and I AM NOT that old....anyway, I don't keep anything year to year. I think only college professors tend to keep that stuff. Don't worry too much!I no u probably won't listen to me, but if the teacher thinks u are a good student and likes you and all, he/she probably would appreciate it if u tell him/her the truth. It might be a good idea to have an excuse to use tooi dont think she wil remember
b/c teachers r old... and have a lot of students
papers to grade..
so i dont think she will remember...I am wondering why you used that paper to start with. It sounds like your conscience is going to really bother you until you clear the air. I am a teacher. I would respect someone that came to me and admitted what had happened. You should talk to your teacher and see about redoing the assignment. You may get a lower grade (because it is late) but at least it would be YOUR grade. I know people who cheated all through school and they are sorry now. The point of the assignment is for you to learn....if you copied, you didn't learn. That horrible feeling in your stomach is your friend. I know someone how did something similar in college and was kicked out of the college. Go fess up and learn your lesson and cheat no more. Your teacher has seen it before and worse. Better to confess before hand then to be caught. Actually better yet, tell your parents and you can come in with a parent to fess up. That way your teacher knows you take it seriously.
Good luck and I hope it all turns out alright.
(oh and some teachers keep stuff and remember year to year and some don't. No real way to know from here.)#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
